Not book-related, but library-related: The Chinatown Storefront Library was a project I was involved with last year, bringing a small, temporary, volunteer-run library branch to Chinatown in Boston. It was a great project and I think a huge success.
The folks who put it together, Boston Street Lab, are now working on creating a mobile, outdoor library, the Uni, as a community resource and space--for presentations, programs, and browsing. They're raising money, and they've got just over a week to pull in the last chunk of fundraising they need.
If you want to learn more about the project--or, even better, donate!--check out their page on Kickstart. They're calling it the Uni, and if nothing else, it's really cool-looking. It's a very neat bit of urban improvement, community building, use of public space, and bringing books to the masses!
