For me, this doesn't really ring true. I read a ton and write a ton, so imaginary stories are pretty much the center of my world, and I don't see I'm less satisfied with life or the "real world" than the people around me who spend equal amounts of time on their phones/on social media/watching TV/shopping for clothes/playing video games/obsessing over home redecoration/other stuff I don't do.
